The case of Asian women

We often see husbands making their wives do everything for them the only thing they probably might be able to do themselves is breath for themselves. But what is it with various cultures in India and Pakistan that people often drag it along with them after marriage to. What I mean is that they often treat the woman in their life as if she was their servant, making her work do things at home that they too can help with.

I often find it horrible that no matter how much they do they are not appreciated, maybe its how some men are programmed that “no the woman is just to do her job” but who decides what her job is? See the painting on the left by an artist named Nida Aqeel where a woman is holding a glass of water and bowing down to a “male” shirt.

Why do you think the Asian women are seen as the weaker gender by so many men. The problem exists also in non-Asians so nothing new there.

Would love to know from all male and female readers.. take a second and do reply with your views.

Is it OK to give money to beggars?

There have been lots of incidents that I have gone through in Pakistan when little kids come up and ask for money for food or other stuff. Or that’s what they claim it’s for. But due to the massive explosion of organized crime and other such sad bits there are lots of people who emotionally blackmail people to get money out of them. I remember an incident where a kid asked for money in Pakistan, I asked him what he needed it for and he said food… I took him to a restaurant but he refused to go since the money he needed was for something else. So I was thinking is it really OK for those of us that give money to kids to just stop and end this whole chain of begging or let it continue so those that really need it get the help?

Inder, one of the blog readers mentioned this topic so let’s see what you guys would do and would you ever stop giving money to beggars?
