Staying positive is a skill that can be developed and below are five steps to staying positive (ofcourse there can be more)

  1. Take a deep breath when a situation tries to detrack you
  2. Ignore any negative message sent your way, just grab the constructive part of it
  3. Talk to a friend who has a positive mindset
  4. Accept that making mistakes is a natural thing that everyone does
  5. Don’t HATE people, you can definitly dislike their way of thinking but hating them wouldn’t do you any good

Why be positive?

When the ghost of negativity haunts us and wants us to be sad and down all the time we just have to shake it off somehow and get out in the open air to celebrate the beautiful gift God has presented us with.. our life. Just look at the amazing things around us that we take for granted.

Have you ever realized the way the water falls from those beautiful mountains? And the way the sun sets far far away making that beautiful orange color look totally out of the world?

Well maybe sometimes I do feel that negativity breeds within us and makes us so used to itself that we just can not let go and keep on thinking about everything that will end up bad. But truth of the matter is that sometimes faking it is almost close to making it. Which means that you just have to make yourself BELIEVE that you are happy and positive. Your inner self needs to know that the person who “owns” it has the control in their hands.

If for some reason, whatever it might be, you feel that you just have to give up on life. Then think of all those that lose their lives due to illnesses and sickness not forgetting those that die in war zones. You have so much to be thankful for, so why NOT be positive?

What keeps you positive?

Staying happy when sad..

I often come across people who have gone through the toughest of times but still smile. Then I wonder what is it that they are doing right that others aren’t… and then I get few answers which most of the times should be quite obvious. Below I will just mention few of them.

  • Being sad doesn’t mean the end of the world
Lots of people feel that the sadness surrounding them will last. Well to break that bubble of yours.. no sadness lasts forever. It’s usually always the last key in the bunch that opens the lock. Hang in there
  • Sadness is not your friend
It sure isn’t. No one gets anything good out of being sad. So surround yourself with people who make you smile and laugh. And hey if someone is making you feel so sad, just build a bridge and get over it. Yes I know it’s rough, but sometimes one needs a kick in the back to get things going.
  • Being sad makes you look old
Yah It’s kind of true. Try being a sad person for a whole week or so, and whenever someone says something just make a sour face in return. Not only will you “kill” everything young cell in your body but you will make sure nothing looks good on you. Since sometimes wearing a smile compliments any clothing, but wearing a frown makes even the best clothes look silly.
  • Last but not least, sadness is not the way to go..
I am a big fan of positivity in any situation. But since I am also a human being, I too get sad sometimes. But usually snap out of it quick. I am a spirtual person who believes in God and feel that everything happens for a reason. So usually the “sadness” bug doesn’t like me that much since I don’t give it company.

So to sum it up.. to stay happy you need to be around positive people, remember that sadness doesn’t last unless you want it to and DON’T hang around things that make you go sad.
